When I was a little girl I was a neat freak!! My sister and I would share a room and OMG I would freak out if her things weren't picked up in the room. A little over board… My dad would ask me and my sisters each day if we made our bed. I would pride myself in making my bed each day. My sisters would have to go back into the house before school to make their bed.
And to this day I still make my bed every single day. I had no idea what making my bed each day would do for me as an adult. It was laying a foundation for healthy habits every day.
People ask me all the time “how do you stay motivated”. I have worked from home and for myself for two years now. I could easily not work but I do it anyway. Here's the secret…. I don’t!
I don't stay motivated… It all comes down to habits and discipline. On the days I don't want to work I fall back on these habits.
Habits are like the rumbling strips of your life. When you are starting to veer off the road they kind of wake you up and get you back on track. The same goes for habits in our life. When you start to lack motivation your habits will keep you going. And the thing is, when you have habits set in place and you skip a day or don't do something, you feel horrible.
That is the purpose of habits. To keep you on track when you do not have the motivation to keep going. Find a habit that will push you to be better and keep that habit when you don't feel like it.

A "don't miss" habit that I do everyday is daily affirmations. The most successful people in the world all use them. So shouldn't we? Grab my guide on How to Create Daily Affirmations!
